Kids Hope USA has been helping to build relationships between schools and churches for over 15 years.  Kids Hope USA mentors are currently in over 600 schools in 31 states, including 90 schools  in Indiana. 

Kids Hope USA’s proven formula is “one child, one hour, one church, one school.”  

H:  Helping to meet the emotional, social and academic needs of at-risk children by giving them a one-to-one relationship with a mentor from our church.

O:  Owned by our church.  This is our ministry to children and families in our neighborhood. 

P:  Prayer is the foundation for our work.  A behind-the-scenes prayer partner from our church prays for each mentor-child relationship. 

E:  Elementary school children are our focus.  They need mentoring most because they are at that critical time when values are formed, self-esteem is developed and critical academic skills must be acquired. 

Educators at Kids Hope USA schools have reported that the child’s relationship with a Kids Hope mentor has a significant impact on at-risk children because it helps meet their emotional, social and academic needs.  Change and growth in the key areas of attitude, behavior, academic performance and attendance have been consistently documented. 

Often when a Kids Hope USA partnership is begun in a community, word of the positive impact it has on the children and the school spreads and other schools from that community contact the Kids Hope organization asking for a church with which to partner!  Liberty Bible Church is the first church in Porter County to be partnering with Kids Hope USA.
