Visiting Liberty Bible Chesterton Campus for the first time.
Where do I park? When you arrive at our church you will park in any parking lot and enter through one of our three main entrances (A, C, or D). You will be greeted at the front door by our friendly volunteers who will say hello and direct you inside. If you indicate that you are a visitor, they will direct you to a nearby Welcome Center. There you may ask questions and get directions to one of our worship areas.
What type of children's and youth ministries do you have? At our 8:00 am worship service we have childcare available for birth through pre-K. Visit a Welcome Center and they will lead you to the room you are looking for.
If you have children (birth through 1st grade), the Welcome Center volunteers can also direct you to our various children’s programs available during our 9:30 and 11:00 am services.
If you have children 2nd through 4th grades, Welcome Center volunteers can direct you to Sunday’s Cool and KIDMO (Kids in Motion) during the 9:30 and 11:00 services.
If you have a 5th or 6th grader, their class, Area 56, meets during the 9:30 service. You are always welcome to take your children into the services with you, but most of our kids really enjoy the children's program. We have developed a good system for keeping your children safe and well cared for. Pagers are available for you in the nursery areas and there are monitors in the worship service that will show your child’s number if for any reason your child would need your special attention during the service.
Our Junior High group meets during the 9:30 service on Sundays. They also meet on Wednesday evenings.
High school students meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30. There are also several other activities for high school students throughout the week.
What should I expect during the service? When you enter the Worship Center or Sacred Ground (an alternative worship service in our gymnasium with interactive worship and video sermon), you will be given a bulletin by one of our ushers which has information about upcoming events and opportunities at our church. The service is different each week, but will always include a time of worship through singing and prayer. We take an offering, but no one need feel obligated to put money in the plate. We want you to be our guest. People that call Liberty Bible Church their home give out of gratitude for all that God has blessed us with. After this first part of the service is over, the senior pastor will give a message that is based on the Bible and relevant to daily life. The teaching will last about 30-35 minutes, and we generally end the service with prayer and sometimes a song.
We celebrate communion monthly (often the first Sunday of the month), and if you are a committed Christian, you are welcome to share communion with us. If not, you can sit back and enjoy the music during this time.
The music in the main service at Liberty Bible Church is a mix of new and traditional music. The style in the Sacred Ground service is more informal, interactive and eclectic. The music teams do a great job leading the worship services, and you will enjoy learning new songs and occasionally singing some old favorites.
After our second worship service concludes around 10:45, as soon as the service is over, you can pick up your children from their classrooms and then stay around and enjoy some coffee and cookies as you get to know some people at our Liberty Welcome in the Fireside Room. Our senior pastor will be there along with others from our Liberty staff and community to talk with you, get to know you and answer any questions you may have. We also periodically have newcomer luncheons. If you leave your contact information on a Connections Card (tucked inside the bulletin) and drop it in the offering plate, you will receive an invitation to the next newcomer luncheon.
The Welcome Centers at each entrance also have brochures and booklets for all of our ministries. Don't forget to visit one of the friendly volunteers there!
